CM Chandrababu Naidu Lashes Out at Ministers at Cabinet Meeting

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu expressed serious displeasure over the performance and conduct of his ministers. Cabinet meeting was held at secretariat on Tuesday. Notably, Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan was absent from the meeting. The CM is reported to have pulled up ministers for their inability to effectively counter opposition allegations and their silence over the recent controversy surrounding the deaths of cows at the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) goshala.

Following the official cabinet proceedings, Naidu reportedly “took a class” for the ministers, fuming over their lack of preparedness and public communication. His ire was particularly directed at the way his team failed to respond to accusations made by YSRCP leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy, who recently released photographs allegedly showing the deaths of cows in the TTD goshala.

The incident snowballed into a controversy after conflicting statements emerged from the government itself. While the Chief Minister maintained that no cows had died, the TTD Chairman claimed that 20–22 cows had perished, and the TTD Executive Officer (EO) stated the number was 43. This inconsistency, Naidu said, not only created confusion but gave the opposition a chance to attack the government’s credibility.

“Why didn’t any of you respond on such a sensitive issue?” the CM questioned sternly, according to sources present at the meeting. He added that the government had received a “bad name” due to the poor handling of the issue and instructed ministers to take immediate steps to clarify the facts and restore public trust.

Beyond the goshala issue, Naidu instructed to take the government’s programs effectively to the public. He stressed that welfare schemes and development initiatives must be communicated widely and clearly, and urged ministers to stay engaged with the grassroots.

In a more serious note, the Chief Minister warned his team about rising allegations of corruption involving personal secretaries and Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) of some ministers. Naidu emphasized that such behaviour is tarnishing the government’s image and assured that strict action would be taken if misconduct continues.
