A Visit in February, A Case in June: YS Jagan Faces Fresh FIR

మాజీ సీఎంపై మరో కేసు న‌మోదు

A quiet February morning in Guntur’s Mirchi Yard has now turned into a political flashpoint. Nearly four months after former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy met with farmers there, a police case has suddenly been filed—raising eyebrows and political tensions in Andhra Pradesh.

The visit, which took place on February 19 during the MLC election code of conduct, was seen then as a routine outreach by the opposition leader. But now, the Nallapadu police claim it was a violation of election rules, citing that Jagan entered the premises without prior permission and addressed the gathering.

Along with Jagan, the FIR names key YSRCP leaders—Ambati Rambabu, Lella Appi Reddy, Modugula Venugopal Reddy, and Kavati Manohar Naidu. Notices have been served under Section 41A, asking them to appear for inquiry.

But the timing has sparked more questions than answers.

“Why now?” ask YSRCP leaders and supporters. For them, this is not just a legal issue—it feels personal. Just weeks after a case was filed over Jagan’s Rentapalla tour, this second FIR adds to what many in the party see as a pattern. A pattern of targeting the opposition, one case at a time.

“There was no issue back in February. Why dig it up now unless it’s political?” questioned a party worker from Guntur, echoing a growing sense of unease within YSRCP circles.

For a leader who once held the reins of the state, being summoned for a visit made months ago isn’t just unusual—it’s a symbol of the changing tides in Andhra politics. From addressing farmers to answering police queries, Jagan’s journey now reflects the sharp edge of political transition.
