  • Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu remains focused on publicity, irrespective of what happens to the state and its people

Who is responsible for the horrific incident that took place at the ZP High School in Rapthadu on Saturday? Is Home Minister Anitha not responsible for failing miserably to prevent the countless atrocities committed against women and girls during the past 28 months? Is Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan not responsible for remaining silent after coming to power, despite delivering dramatic speeches that he would question injustice? Is Minister Nara Lokesh not responsible for interfering in every other department like a minister for all portfolios, while ruining his own Education Department and destroying government schools?

Are the police not responsible for abandoning law and order, supporting Red Book atrocities and functioning like servants of those in power? Above all, is Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu not responsible for repeatedly committing blunders and spreading malicious propaganda, while acting as though nothing matters except himself, his position and publicity?

The Entire State left horrified

People across the state were shocked after learning about the Rapthadu incident through television and social media. An assailant entered a school and attacked a girl indiscriminately with an electric saw. He also attacked another girl who tried to stop him. The fact that this happened while a teacher was present inside the classroom has raised a disturbing question in the minds of every parent: Are children safe when they go to school?

The classroom at the Rapthadu school was soaked in the girl’s blood. The scenes of the injured student being rushed to hospital were heartbreaking. The girl suffered a deep cut to her neck, severe bleeding and the complete severing of one hand. The incident stands as an indelible stain on humanity itself.

What answer does Home Minister Anitha have?

Since the coalition government came to power, countless atrocities have been committed against women and children across the state. During the initial days of the government itself, a girl was raped in Muchumarri in Kurnool district, and even her body could not be recovered. That incident marked the beginning of a continuing series of horrific crimes against women and children.

Yet Home Minister Anitha merely holds media conferences and passes time. The public can clearly see that she is far more interested in maligning the YSRCP and blaming Y.S. Jagan then in protecting law and order in the state.

Pawan, who promised to Question Injustice, remains silent

During the previous government, Pawan Kalyan made baseless claims that young women were going missing across the state, merely to malign the Y.S. Jagan government and derive political benefit from the issue. A Union Home Ministry report later exposed those statements as blatant lies and established that not a single woman had gone missing in the state.

However, after becoming Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan has not taken even one meaningful initiative to protect women and children.

Law and Order abandoned for Red Book duty

The police have become pawns in Chandrababu Naidu’s vicious political game. They follow the instructions of senior TDP leaders and have completely abandoned their responsibility to maintain law and order.

Their duty now appears to be deciding which YSRCP leader should be arrested each day, who should be harassed, who should be sent to prison and how false cases should be fabricated. Some police officials have gone even further and have begun taking the law into their own hands.

Minister Lokesh is destroying the Education Department

The Education Minister interferes in every department except his own and exercises authority everywhere, while completely destroying the department entrusted to him. He has dismantled the revolutionary reforms introduced in government schools during Y.S. Jagan’s tenure.

English-medium education, Nadu-Nedu, the Gorumudda meal programme, laboratories and TOEFL training have disappeared. Lokesh has shown such incompetence that the government cannot even provide students with good-quality school bags.

The Rapthadu incident has now raised serious questions among parents about whether students are safe in government schools. Parents are being forced to wonder whether their children will return home safely after being sent to school.

Chief Minister Chandrababu bears ultimate responsibility

When law and order has collapsed, government schools are being weakened and atrocities against women and children continue, does the Chief Minister bear no responsibility?

Governance in the state has gone off track during the past 28 months, and institutions have deteriorated. Those in power are themselves committing wrongdoings and crimes, while the police remain indifferent. To cover up these failures, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu moves from one platform to another every day, spreading poisonous propaganda.

Is this not the collective failure of the coalition government? Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Home Minister Anitha, Education Minister Lokesh and senior police officials must ask themselves whether they have any moral right to continue in their positions.
