People regret Naidu’s rule

Former Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party President Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy said there is intense public resentment against the Chandrababu-led coalition government and that in every household people are now discussing how governance was better during the YSRCP regime. He announced that he will launch another padayatra after one and a half years and will remain continuously among the people for nearly one and a half years. He also declared that he will meet party workers from one constituency every week. YS Jagan was speaking at a meeting with local body representatives and party activists of the Eluru Assembly constituency at the party central office in Tadepalli.

Only three years left for this government”

YS Jagan said nearly two years have already passed and that when the government presents its third budget next month or in early March, only two budgets and about three years will remain. He reiterated that after one and a half years he will begin his padayatra and will stay among the people throughout that period, reconnecting directly with the public.

“Every Home Is Comparing Then and Now”

He said governance today is unjust and driven by what he called “red-book rule,” where those in power believe they can do anything to anyone. He alleged that lies, intimidation, and misuse of the police system have become routine, and that anyone questioning the government is being targeted with cases. He said this has led to widespread anger.

YS Jagan said every household is now discussing how things were better earlier — recalling that during YSRCP rule promises were implemented, benefits were delivered every month, and words were matched with action. He said people remember that even during two years of COVID, no welfare scheme was stopped and citizens were not burdened.

“All Systems Crippled, Education in Crisis”

He said people have now realised the reality of Chandrababu Naidu’s governance, describing it as a regime of broken promises. He alleged that government schools, once transformed to compete with private institutions, are now deteriorating. He said programmes like Nadu-Nedu, Class-8 tablets, TOEFL training, and quality mid-day meals have vanished. He claimed that nearly nine lakh students have dropped out of government schools, with enrolment falling from about 43 lakh to 33 lakh.

He further said fee reimbursement has been pending for eight quarters, with around ₹4,900 crore still unpaid, and that Vidya Deevena and Vasathi Deevena payments have not been released for two years, leaving dues of about ₹2,200 crore.

“Health System Sidelined, Emergency Services Weakened”

YS Jagan said Aarogyasri has been undermined, with over ₹4,000 crore pending to hospitals. He alleged that 108 and 104 services have been crippled and that even emergency calls are not being attended for hours. He recalled that during COVID, new ambulances were introduced, but now those services have deteriorated.

“Medical Colleges, Agriculture and Law & Order Destroyed”

He alleged that despite initiating 17 medical colleges, the present government is moving to privatise completed ones while continuing to pay salaries, leaving profits to private entities. He said agriculture has also been destroyed, claiming that Rythu Bharosa Kendras are defunct, free crop insurance and zero-interest loans have vanished, fertilisers are being sold in black markets, and farmer assistance has been drastically reduced.

He added that after education, health, and agriculture, law and order has now collapsed, with people feeling unsafe and policing weakened. He criticised growing privatisation and said that if this continues, even governance itself may be handed over.

“YSRCP Standing With People, Weekly Cadre Meets”

YS Jagan said the government is suppressing dissent by filing cases against those who question it, and in this situation YSRCP is standing firmly with the people. He said the party is fighting on behalf of students, youth, farmers, and women wherever injustice occurs.

Calling on party workers to continue this spirit, he urged them to unite and strengthen the movement. He said Eluru leader Jayaprakash needs collective support and called upon cadres to stand firmly with him.

The meeting was attended by Eluru constituency leaders Jayaprakash and Karumuri Sunil, along with nearly 200 key party activists.
