In the wake of the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, a wave of misinformation has swept social media, targeting actress Imanvi — the lead heroine of the upcoming film Fauji, starring Prabhas. Rumors falsely claimed that Imanvi has roots in Pakistan, prompting calls by some to boycott the film. The actress has now come forward, strongly condemning the rumors and expressing her deep hurt over the incident.
Imanvi, reacting with clarity and emotion, stated that the allegations about her Pakistani origin are completely baseless. “Neither I nor anyone in my family has any connection with Pakistan,” she affirmed. “I am an Indo-American, born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My parents legally migrated to the United States, and I am proud of my Indian heritage.”
The multilingual actress, fluent in Hindi, English, Gujarati, and Telugu, emphasized her cultural identity, saying, “I am Indian by blood and by culture. These rumours are not only false, but they’re also deeply hurtful, especially at a time when the nation is mourning an attack on innocent lives.”
Imanvi also took a strong stand against the media and online platforms that spread the misinformation without verifying facts. “It’s shocking that certain journalists and websites circulated these lies without even a basic fact-check. It’s irresponsible and damaging,” she said.
