YS Jagan’s vision Rallying cry for Dalit empowerment

In a powerful show of unity and resolve, the YSR Congress Party’s (YSRCP) Scheduled Caste (SC) Wing held a state-level executive meeting at Tadepalli, Andhra Pradesh, to reaffirm their commitment to social justice and the leadership of Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The gathering, attended by prominent party leaders, former ministers, and SC community representatives, was a clarion call to restore Jagan’s governance, which they hailed as a golden era for Dalit empowerment.

The meeting saw the presence of YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy, SC Cell State President TJR Sudhakar Babu, Working President Kommuri Kanakarao, former ministers Merugu Nagarjuna, Taneti Vanita, Adimulapu Suresh, Gollapalli Suryarao, former MP Nandigam Suresh, MLCs M. Arun Kumar and Pandula Ravindra Babu, along with former MLAs, MLCs, senior leaders, and district SC Cell presidents. The leaders paid heartfelt tributes to the portraits of late Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and Dr. Babu Jagjivan Ram, setting a tone of reverence for the legacy of social justice.

A Legacy of Empowerment

TJR Sudhakar Babu, SC Cell State President, delivered a stirring address, emphasizing Jagan’s transformative governance. “Under Jagan’s rule, justice was delivered to SCs. He ensured welfare schemes reached every Dalit family, provided land titles, and introduced English-medium education for our children,” he said. Sudhakar Babu contrasted this with the current coalition government, accusing it of fostering an environment where attacks on Dalits have surged. “In Pithapuram, Pawan Kalyan’s constituency, Dalits are treated as untouchables. Atrocities, rapes, and murders against our community are rising,” he charged, urging the audience to work tirelessly to make Jagan the Chief Minister again.

Former MP Nandigam Suresh echoed these sentiments, accusing the TDP-led coalition, particularly Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, of suppressing Dalits. “While Chandrababu insults us, Jagan honored us by giving us a voice in Delhi. Chandrababu desecrated Ambedkar’s statue in Mullakampalli, but Jagan erected a towering symbol of self-respect in Vijayawada,” he said, referring to the iconic Statue of Social Justice. Suresh called for a united fight to reinstate Jagan’s leadership, asserting, “Our self-respect demands it.”

A Cabinet of inclusion

Former Home Minister Taneti Vanita highlighted Jagan’s inclusive governance, noting that he appointed five Dalits to his cabinet, including a Deputy Chief Minister. “Jagan gave us dignity, but the coalition spread lies because they couldn’t digest our rise,” she said. Vanita criticized current Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha, urging her to “remember her roots” and speak responsibly. “It’s our collective responsibility to bring Jagan back,” she declared.

MP Gollapalli Suryarao emphasized that the MP position given by Jagan was a shared honor for all Dalits. “The coalition claims Malas and Madigas are divided, but we are united under Jagan’s leadership,” he said, urging the audience to work towards reinstating a “government of the poor.”

Jagan’s Golden Touch

Former Minister Adimulapu Suresh described Jagan as “24-carat gold,” praising his visionary policies. “Jagan brought education and healthcare to the doorstep of the marginalized. He restored our pride by erecting Ambedkar’s statue in Vijayawada,” Suresh said, calling on the SC community to strengthen the party and reclaim power.

Former Minister Merugu Nagarjuna warned of increasing atrocities against Dalits under the coalition government. “From Srikakulam to Chittoor, attacks on our brothers are rampant. The NCRB report confirms that Dalit atrocities peaked under Chandrababu’s rule,” he said. Nagarjuna accused the coalition of attempting to privatize the Ambedkar Smriti Vanam in Vijayawada, vowing to protect the Statue of Social Justice. “We will fight like warriors to safeguard it,” he asserted.

A Call to Action

YSRCP State Coordinator Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy delivered a rousing speech, underscoring the party’s unique outreach. “YSRCP touched five crore lives directly, uplifting every section socially, politically, and economically,” he said. Reddy praised Jagan’s governance for fostering equality in an unequal society, citing welfare schemes, education reforms, and healthcare access for the poor. “Jagan proved that true development means empowering the marginalized,” he said.

Reddy condemned the coalition’s “oppressive rule,” filing false cases and spreading misinformation against YSRCP. “They fear the Red Book Constitution and try to suppress us, but YSRCP’s DNA is rooted in standing with the poor,” he said. He called for organizational strengthening, swift committee appointments, and exposing the coalition’s failures. “Let’s unite, fight their falsehoods, and prepare for the next elections to achieve a historic victory,” Reddy urged.

Resolutions and Road Ahead

The meeting concluded with the SC Cell passing several resolutions, unanimously approved under Sudhakar Babu’s leadership. These resolutions outlined a roadmap for grassroots mobilization, countering misinformation, and reinforcing Jagan’s vision for Dalit empowerment. Former MLAs, MLCs, and party spokespersons also spoke, condemning the coalition’s attempts to privatize Ambedkar Smriti Vanam and their failure to implement welfare schemes.

As the YSRCP SC Wing vowed to restore Jagan’s “welfare kingdom,” the meeting sent a clear message: the fight for Dalit dignity and social justice is far from over. With their eyes set on the next elections, the leaders and cadres pledged to work tirelessly to bring back a government that champions the marginalized.
