India Launches Operation Sindhoor; Strikes Terror Camps Inside Pakistan

In a bold and coordinated response to the recent Pahalgam terror attack, the Indian Armed Forces carried out a powerful strike on terror camps located deep within Pakistan territory in the early hours of Tuesday. The operation, code-named “Operation Sindhoor,” was executed at 1:44 AM and this is the first time since the 1971 India-Pakistan war that Indian forces have conducted such a large-scale operation deep inside Pakistani territory.

Precision Strikes Across Nine Terror Locations:

Jointly conducted by the Indian Army, Air Force, and Navy, the operation targeted nine terror camps, including high-value installations in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and parts of mainland Pakistan. Key regions struck included Kotli, Bahawalpur, and Muzaffarabad, areas long known to harbor the terror outfits Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM).

According to official sources, the operation exclusively targeted terrorist infrastructure and avoided Pakistani military installations. Using precision-guided missile systems, Indian forces destroyed multiple buildings, bunkers, and logistics hubs believed to be involved in cross-border terrorist activities.

Indian Army Confirms the Strikes:

The Indian Army confirmed the operation on its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, stating that the strikes were a direct retaliation for the Pahalgam attack and a message to those supporting terrorism. The Defense Ministry added that footage of the operation had gone viral on social media, showing the scale and coordination involved in the attack.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was reported to have directly overseen the operation, receiving real-time updates. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh took to social media, hailing the operation with a patriotic message: “Bharat Mata Ki Jai.”

A formal press briefing by the Ministry of Defence is expected later today at 10 AM, where more operational details are likely to be shared.

Security Measures in India:

In the wake of the operation, the Indian government has temporarily shut down major airports including those in Srinagar, Jammu, Amritsar, Dharamshala, and Leh, as a precautionary measure against potential retaliation.

Reaction from Pakistan:

As of now, Pakistan’s official response remains limited. However, military sources in Islamabad are reported to be on high alert. Unverified reports suggest that Pakistan has scrambled jets and begun strategic troop movements along the Line of Control (LoC). Analysts expect a formal statement from Pakistan’s Foreign Office soon.
