From Rameswaram to Rashtrapati Bhavan: Dhanush to Star as Missile Man

In a landmark announcement at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival, the biopic “Kalam: The Missile Man of India” was officially unveiled, promising to bring the extraordinary life of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam to the silver screen. National Award-winning actor Dhanush will take on the role of India’s beloved scientist and former President, directed by Om Raut, known for blockbusters like Tanhaji and Adipurush. The film is set to chronicle Kalam’s remarkable journey from a humble childhood in Rameswaram to becoming a key architect of India’s missile and space technology.

Produced by cinematic giants T-Series (Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar), Abhishek Agarwal Arts (Abhishek Agarwal), and Sunkara Productions (Anil Sunkara), the film also boasts a powerful script penned by Saiwyn Quadras, the writer behind acclaimed biopics like Neerja and Parmanu. The first-look poster, revealed at Cannes, features two silhouettes and a soaring missile, a symbolic nod to Kalam’s lifelong mission to elevate India’s defense and scientific prowess, including his pivotal role in the BrahMos missile project.

Kalam promises to be more than just a biopic—it’s a celebration of science, patriotism, and the power of dreams. The film aims to inspire a new generation by portraying Kalam’s life as a blueprint of perseverance, innovation, and national pride.
