The Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meeting held at Novotel, Hyderabad, saw several important decisions being made as part of the party’s renewed focus on strengthening its structure and presence across Telangana.
🔹 Congress MLAs to Contribute ₹25,000 Monthly
In a major move aimed at party strengthening, the leadership has mandated every Congress MLA to contribute ₹25,000 from their monthly salary towards party funds. These contributions will be used to support party activities and operational expenses.
🔹 “Stay Among the People, Follow Party Line”
Congress leadership emphasized the need for MLAs to be closely connected with the public, especially at the grassroots level. Legislators were instructed to visit villages regularly, understand local issues, and avoid making statements that go against the official party line.
The leadership also issued a stern message that any attempts to blackmail or pressure the party leadership will not be tolerated. Party members were reminded that the Congress is no longer in a position where it can be threatened or manipulated.
🔹 Revanth Reddy’s Sweet Warning
Speaking at the meeting, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy cited the example of MLC Addanki Dayakar, noting that his patience and discipline earned him his current role. “Only those who exhibit patience will be rewarded with positions,” Revanth stated, giving what many interpreted as a ‘sweet warning’ to those lobbying for cabinet posts.
He also clarified that the Cabinet expansion will be decided by the High Command, and no one should make public statements or speculate about it.
🔹 Focus on Key Welfare and Development Issues
Four crucial topics were discussed during the CLP meeting:
- Bhu Bharati (Land Records Digitization)
- Fine Rice Distribution
- Revival of Indiramma Housing Scheme
- SC Categorization
Party leaders exchanged views and strategies on how to effectively communicate these initiatives to the public and ensure their proper implementation on the ground.
Following the conclusion of the CLP meeting, CM Revanth Reddy is scheduled to depart for Japan, as part of a planned official visit.
