The YSRCP Phoenix NRI Committee commemorated the 77th Jayanthi of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy with great reverence and enthusiasm on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, in Phoenix, Arizona. The event brought together members of the Telugu community and YSRCP supporters to pay tribute to the visionary leader whose welfare-oriented governance continues to inspire millions.
The celebrations were graced virtually by Sri Aluru Samba Siva Reddy, YSRCP State General Secretary, YSRCP NRI Global Coordinator, and Former Advisor to the Chief Minister (Education). Sri Dr. Pradeep Chinta, YSRCP State General Secretary (NRI Affairs), attended the event as the Chief Guest.
The program commenced with floral tributes to Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy, followed by a special audio-visual presentation highlighting his remarkable life, visionary leadership, and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
Addressing the gathering, the dignitaries shared heartfelt memories of their association with Dr. YSR, recalling his humility, compassion, courage, and unwavering dedication to public service.
Chief Guest Sri Aluru Samba Siva Reddy described Dr. YSR as a true “Leader of the Masses,” emphasizing his extraordinary connection with ordinary citizens and his transformative approach to governance. He urged everyone to unite behind Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in carrying forward the ideals and vision of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy for the continued welfare and development of Andhra Pradesh.
He also elaborated on the initiatives of Jagananna Techforce, which aims to strengthen YSRCP NRI chapters across the globe. Highlighting the pivotal role of software professionals and NRIs, he encouraged members to actively participate and contribute to expanding the party’s global outreach and engagement.
He also urged NRIs to actively participate in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the electoral rolls by creating awareness among their families and friends in Andhra Pradesh. He emphasized the importance of ensuring that every eligible voter verifies their details and completes the enrollment process accurately.
Chief Guest Sri Dr. Pradeep Chinta reflected on the inspiring personality and enduring legacy of Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. He highlighted several landmark development and welfare initiatives introduced during Dr. YSR’s tenure and spoke about the transformative reforms implemented during the government led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, particularly in government school modernization and the Village/Ward Secretariat system. He also expressed concern over the alleged repression of social media activists under the present TDP government and called upon NRIs to actively engage through social media platforms in support of democratic values and public awareness.
The speakers highlighted several flagship welfare initiatives introduced by Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy during his tenure as Chief Minister of united Andhra Pradesh, including:
● Aarogyasri – providing affordable and accessible healthcare to millions.
● Fee Reimbursement – enabling students from economically weaker sections to pursue higher education.
● Free Electricity for Farmers – strengthening the agricultural sector and supporting farmers.
● Pavala Vaddi Scheme – empowering women through affordable credit and financial inclusion.
A walkthrough session on SIR was conducted during the event by Dheeraj Pola, explaining the step-by-step process for verifying voter details under the SIR initiative and correctly filling out the enumeration forms. Participants were encouraged to guide their family members and local communities to complete the process within the stipulated timeline.
The gathering concluded with a reaffirmation of the committee’s commitment to preserving and promoting Dr. Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s legacy. Speakers emphasized the importance of continuing to support the YSR Congress Party and Former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy in advancing the vision of inclusive development, social justice, and welfare-driven governance envisioned by Dr. YSR.
