In yet another shocking display of political desperation, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and his NDA allies turned the Andhra Pradesh Assembly into a platform to recycle debunked lies about Lord Venkateswara’s sacred Laddu prasadam, the Seven Hills of Tirumala, and respected YSRCP leaders. Even after the Supreme Court-appointed CBI-SIT, NDDB and NDRI categorically ruled out animal fat in the ghee, Naidu continued his vicious misinformation campaign inside the House on Tuesday. Devotees across the world watched in disbelief as the same man who once claimed “animal fat was mixed” in the world-famous Tirumala Laddu kept repeating the falsehoods — this time from the floor of the Assembly.
1. NDDB Report Twisted Beyond Recognition
Naidu told the House: “I spoke only after seeing the NDDB report.”
Reality Check:
The NDDB report dated July 23, 2024, clearly mentioned “vegetable fat” but also carried explicit disclaimers about possible inaccuracies due to nutritional deficiencies in cows, vegetable oil residues in feed, and sampling methodology. Naidu deliberately ignored every caveat, waited nearly 47 days, and on September 8, 2024, made a sensational announcement that shattered the hearts of crores of Sri Venkateswara devotees worldwide — all without any final scientific confirmation.
2. SIT Report Completely Ignored
The CBI-SIT, constituted by the Supreme Court on Naidu’s own demand, filed its charge sheet and on Page 29 explicitly stated:
“No animal fat was found in the ghee used for Tirumala Laddu preparation.”
Yet Naidu claimed in the Assembly that the SIT had “exposed adulteration”. A direct, brazen lie placed on record in the legislature.
3. Seven Hills Distortion: YSR Turned Villain for Protecting Tirumala
Naidu alleged that Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy’s government reduced the Seven Hills to just two hills through a GO.
Historical Truth:
The 10 1/3 square miles (27.5 sq km) limit of Tirumala was fixed by the British in 1870 and reconfirmed by GO No.1784 (1965) and GO No.1605 (1975). The Challa Kondaiah Commission appointed by N.T. Rama Rao in 1986 upheld the same.
It was YSR who, for the first time in history, officially recognised all seven hills — Seshachalam, Narayanadri, Neeladri, Garudadri, Anjanadri, Venkatadri and Vrushabhadri — as sacred through GO No.746 dated June 2, 2007. He also issued GO 338 (2005) and GO 747 to protect the sanctity of the shrine. Far from reducing the hills, YSR expanded and legally protected them.
4. Heritage Foods “Temple Supply” Canard
Naidu accused Heritage of “defiling temples” and claimed his government banned supply of milk and ghee to any temple.
Facts from Heritage’s own rejoinder:
Between 2015–2019, Heritage supplied Rs. 1.5 crore worth of buttermilk and Rs. 21.19 crore worth of ghee to temples across Kadapa, Anantapur, Kurnool, Chittoor and Krishna districts through open online bidding where it emerged L1. All this happened under Chandrababu’s own government (2014–2019). The technical clearance for Bhole Baba Dairy (now under scanner) was also given during Naidu’s previous tenure.
5. Ghee Tender Timeline Exposes the Real Culprits
Every stage — tender finalisation, supply commencement, tanker rejection and re-entry into TTD — happened during Chandrababu’s watch. Yet he blamed the previous YSRCP regime for “looting crores”.
6. Temple Desecrations: Pot Calling the Kettle Black
Naidu wept in the Assembly about a Ram idol being damaged in Ramatheertham.
Counter: The person who damaged it received financial help after the NDA came to power. In the last 20 months of NDA rule, stampedes killed devotees at Tirumala (Vaikuntha Ekadasi), Kashi Bugga (9 dead), Simhachalam (7 dead), and numerous temples have witnessed vandalism — most of the accused have TDP links.
7. RTC Bus Tickets Propaganda
The printing of “other religion” promotions on RTC tickets and the special orders authorising it were issued during Chandrababu’s earlier regime. He is now blaming Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy for the very tickets printed under his own rule.
8. Cheap Personal Attacks on YSRCP Leaders
Naidu stooped to the lowest level by claiming:
– Bhumana Karunakar Reddy’s daughter got married in a church.
– Y.V. Subba Reddy’s wife was seen holding a Bible.
Truth:
Bhumana’s daughter’s wedding was conducted as per Hindu traditions; Chandrababu’s own brother-in-law Balakrishna blessed the couple. A second Christian ceremony was held only because the bride’s maternal uncle is Christian — a common practice. Bhumana attended only as father of the bride.
Y.V. Subba Reddy’s wife Swarnamma is a devout Hindu. The Bible moment was when Vijayamma handed her a copy for a few seconds in a public function — a video that is available. By the same logic, Chandrababu himself should be declared Christian for reading Bible verses while seeking Christian votes.
The Assembly witnessed a new low in political discourse. While the entire country celebrates the glory of Tirumala, Andhra Pradesh’s Chief Minister chose to weaponise Lord Venkateswara’s Laddu for cheap political gains — and got caught red-handed with documented lies.
The question echoing across the state today is simple: How long will the people of Andhra Pradesh tolerate a Chief Minister who lies even on matters of faith?
