They say karma spares no one. At some point or the other, we are all made to face the consequences of our actions. Whether it is the Sugali Preethi case or the Hanuma Vihari episode, the TDP–Janasena combine has been relentlessly chased by karma.
The Sugali Preethi tragedy happened in August 2017 when Chandrababu Naidu was the Chief Minister. Yet, TDP–Janasena fabricated lies and unleashed poisonous propaganda against YSRCP to gain politically in the last elections. Today, unable to answer for their own failures, these very parties are standing exposed before the people.
Now the Hanuma Vihari affair is no different. When the ACA acted as per its rules and regulations in Vihari’s case, TDP–Janasena used that as a weapon to run a false campaign. Today, both parties are drowning in the quicksand of their own accusations. Truly, karma never spares anyone.
What Happened Back Then…
In February 2024, Hanuma Vihari went on social media and attacked the ACA. He had not only abused a teammate during the Bengal match but was also accused of harassment. ACA conducted an inquiry and, citing reasons such as promoting factional divides within the team, appointed another captain. Following this, ACA released a detailed press note explaining the decision.

Yet, as part of their single-point agenda to somehow grab power in the state, TDP–Janasena indulged in mudslinging politics. Their propaganda was amplified by the Yellow Media, which suppressed facts from Vihari’s first controversy and painted the entire issue with a political brush.
Before even a year and a half had passed after the first incident, Vihari dropped another bomb on ACA. He complained to national media that the ACA had not given him proper respect, alleging political interference and denial of opportunities.
Story published in print media
The way ACA has been functioning today shows beyond doubt how TDP’s dirty politics has reached its peak in Andhra cricket. Soon after the change in government, Lokesh’s gang ensured that TDP’s Vijayawada MP Kesineni Chinni (Shivanath) became ACA President, while TDP Rajya Sabha MP Sana Satish was made Secretary. Instead of building ACA into a platform for world-class cricket, they have turned it into a den of politics.
Just as the coalition government is harassing YSRCP leaders and workers across the state, they have extended their vengeance even into cricket. The main ACA stadium in Visakhapatnam, originally named after YSR, was stripped of that honour. The YSR ACA–VDCA Stadium was renamed as just ACA–VDCA Stadium, erasing YSR’s legacy.
Lokesh Gang’s Lawlessness
Lokesh’s gang has let loose complete lawlessness in ACA. Transparency in administration has collapsed. Documents relating to major decisions are not being shared in ACA meetings. Financial approvals are being taken without consent. Allegations are rife that IPL and international match tickets are being diverted in bulk to the black market. Players are openly lamenting that the ACA has been corrupted and destroyed by Lokesh’s gang.
The Threat to Visakhapatnam Stadium
During YSRCP’s government, the seeds were sown for building a world-class international stadium in Visakhapatnam, on the model of Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Jagan’s government completed all processes for setting up a massive integrated sports complex and even secured the land. The plan was clear: the existing YSR Stadium in Vizag for domestic matches, and the new stadium for international fixtures.
But after the change in government, those plans are being sabotaged. Now ACA has announced that the international stadium will be shifted to Amaravati.
Entry of the Bezawada Gang… Rising Concerns
Since the coalition came to power, players are openly expressing anxiety about the fate of international cricket in Andhra. With the “Bezawada gang” taking over ACA, the proposed international stadium for Vizag is now being shifted to Amaravati. ACA Chairman Kesineni Chinni has already confirmed this publicly. Players are anguished, saying that cricket too should not be ruined by political interference.
