Seven Top Pakistan-Based Terror Chiefs Eliminated in Indian Army’s Precision Strikes

In a bold and strategic offensive named ‘Operation Sindoor’, the Indian Army has delivered a powerful blow to cross-border terrorism by eliminating seven top terrorist commanders operating from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK). These strikes were conducted in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack, marking one of the most significant anti-terror responses in recent years.

Launched post-midnight on May 7, the operation involved precision missile strikes targeting key infrastructure and leadership hubs of Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba, both of which have long been responsible for orchestrating deadly attacks on Indian soil. The offensive resulted in the complete destruction of nine terror camps and the reported death of at least 100 terrorists, including seven high-ranking operatives who were central to planning, recruitment, logistics, and cross-border infiltration.

The Seven Eliminated Terror Heads:

  1. Mudassir Khadayin Khas alias Abu Jundal (Lashkar-e-Taiba):
A principal handler and planner for Lashkar-e-Taiba, Jundal had led several attacks in Jammu & Kashmir. His death is being viewed as a major tactical success. Pakistan Army’s official involvement in his funeral reflects his stature in the terror hierarchy.
  2. Hafiz Mohammad Jameel (Jaish-e-Mohammed):
A senior operative of Jaish-e-Mohammed and the brother-in-law of its founder Masood Azhar, Jameel was a strategic planner and financier. His elimination severs a crucial familial and operational link within the Jaish network.
  3. Mohammad Yousuf Azhar alias Ustad Ji / Saleem / Sahab (Jaish-e-Mohammed):
A most-wanted terrorist involved in the 1999 IC-814 hijacking, Yousuf Azhar had remained a high-value target for over two decades. His death marks the end of a long-standing symbol of terror.
  4. Khalid alias Abu Akas (Lashkar-e-Taiba):
A notorious Lashkar commander involved in smuggling weapons from Afghanistan and orchestrating terror strikes in the Valley. His funeral was attended by senior Pakistani military officers, underlining his importance.
  5. Mohammad Hasan Khan (Jaish-e-Mohammed):
Son of Mufti Asghar Khan Kashmiri, Jaish’s operational commander, Hasan Khan managed infiltration routes into Kashmir. His removal disrupts logistical channels that sustained terror flow into India.
  6. Sajid Mir (Lashkar-e-Taiba):
A key figure in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, Sajid Mir has long been on India’s most-wanted list. His death, though not officially acknowledged by Pakistan, is said to be confirmed by military intelligence.

Zubair Masood (Jaish-e-Mohammed):
In charge of foreign recruits and radicalization modules across POK, Zubair Masood’s demise curtails external recruitment pipelines, especially among radicalized youth from South and Central Asia.
