India’s pre-dawn airstrikes under Operation Sindoor targeting terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir have triggered a state of alarm across Pakistan. The swift and precise operation reportedly eliminated over 100 terrorists and dismantled multiple Lashkar-e-Taiba and TRF camps, some allegedly linked to past attacks like 26/11.
In response, Pakistan declared a state of emergency in its provinces, citing security concerns. Schools and colleges were immediately shut, and the government suspended all civilian air operations, closing its airspace for 48 hours. Airports, seaports, and key military installations have been placed on high alert.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned the Indian strikes as a violation of sovereignty and authorized the armed forces to respond “at a time of our choosing.” The Pakistani military claimed that civilian areas were targeted, reporting 26 deaths and 46 injuries—a version India refuted, insisting it only targeted terror infrastructure with precision.
Amid internal panic, Pakistan has launched an aggressive information campaign, portraying the strike as an attack on civilians and religious sites to rally domestic and international sympathy. However, global response has largely remained neutral, with major powers urging restraint and peace.
