YSRCP senior leader and former Finance Minister of Andhra Pradesh, BugganaRajendranath Reddy, has launched a sharp and satirical attack on the newly formed coalition government, raising serious questions over its financial accountability and priorities.
Taking a dig at Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Buggana said, “He claimed he would generate income and distribute it to the people. But instead, all we see is a mountain of debts. Where is the income? From which sources has it been generated?” He challenged the government to release a detailed statement of its revenue sources and financial gains.
Buggana further said he would expose the monthly debt figures accumulated by the current government, pointing out that the claims of financial backing from the central government have amounted to little more than symbolic support. “All the so-called assistance from the Centre is being shown as debt. How is that helping the state?” he asked.
The former finance minister expressed concern that the tax revenue, which stood at ₹81,000 crores when YSRCP handed over power, has now declined by 7.5%. He questioned the coalition government’s ability to manage the state’s economy while highlighting that the YSRCP government had ensured the welfare and security of the common man throughout its tenure.
“The current government is borrowing more than the YSRCP ever did. Yet, not a single welfare scheme or benefit for the common people is visible. Where is all this borrowed money going?” Buggana questioned. He accused the administration of mismanaging public funds and prioritizing rhetoric over real development.
As the state’s economic condition continues to draw scrutiny, Buggana’s pointed questions have intensified the political discourse, pressing the government to come clean on its financial dealings and real commitments to public welfare.
