Bollywood star Kajol has always been known for her honesty — but her latest revelation duringthe promotions of her upcoming film ‘Maa’ has taken fans and the film industry by surprise. In arecent interview, she opened up about a deeply unsettling experience while shooting at RamojiFilm City in Hyderabad, calling it “one of the scariest places in the world.”
Kajol said she couldn’t shake off the strong negative energy she felt during the shoot. “I justwanted to get out of there. I felt like I should never return… By God’s grace, I made it out alive,”she said, describing the environment as disturbing and eerie. Though she didn’t point to anyspecific incident, her words were enough to reignite old rumors and chilling stories longassociated with the massive studio complex.
Her comments have quickly gone viral, drawing both empathy and backlash. Many onlinerecalled the long-standing legends about Ramoji Film City — that it was built on what was oncea Nizam-era battlefield, with the spirits of fallen soldiers said to still haunt the grounds. Kajoladded fuel to those stories by saying some areas felt especially creepy, adding that the space hada strange, almost oppressive energy.
Interestingly, Kajol isn’t the first to say this. Actress Taapsee Pannu, in 2022, also mentionedhow uncomfortable she felt while staying at a hotel inside Ramoji during a film shoot. She didn’tclaim anything paranormal, but admitted to leaving the premises as soon as her work was done.While some fans appreciated Kajol’s honesty, many others, including voices from the filmfraternity, were not so pleased.
