Jointly produced byMonster Mind Creations and Prime Focus Studios, the project boasts a staggering budget of₹4,000 crore (approximately $500 million), shattering previous records in Indian film history.
Producer Namit Malhotra, in a recent podcast, highlighted the unprecedented scale of theproduction, noting that no Indian film has ever crossed the ₹1,000 crore mark before. Heemphasized that the ambition behind Ramayana goes beyond commercial gain—it’s aboutbringing Lord Ram’s timeless story to a global audience with unmatched grandeur.
Crafted to rival Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters like Batman, Superman, and the Marveluniverse, the film aims to set new benchmarks in visual storytelling and cinematic excellence.Early visuals have already drawn praise for their world-class quality.
With a release planned in over 20 languages, Ramayana is being positioned as a truly globalIndian film. Part 1 is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, followed by Part 2 in Diwali2027—promising a mythological spectacle of epic proportions.
The upcoming Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari, features a stellar cast including RanbirKapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, and Sunny Deol as Hanuman, withother key roles reportedly played by Lara Dutta and Ravi Dubey.
The list of highest-budget Indian films till date are 2.0 (₹570 crore), starring Rajinikanth andAkshay Kumar; RRR (₹550 crore), directed by S.S. Rajamouli; and Adipurush (₹500 crore),featuring Prabhas.
