On June 2, 2025, the body of Raja Raghuvanshi, a 27-year-old Indore man, was found in a deepgorge near Wei Sawdong Falls in Meghalaya. His throat was slit, and his body bore signs of aviolent struggle. Authorities quickly suspected foul play.
The couple had gone missing on May 23, triggering concern from Raja’s family. Sonamresurfaced later in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, claiming she had been abducted. But her story soonunraveled.

A team of contract killers—Vishal Singh, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi—was hired for₹50,000 to carry out the murder.
