In a shocking low-point of political discourse, ABN anchor Radha Krishna has stooped to the most vulgar and personal attacks on wives and female family members of YSRCP leaders, using crude language and character assassination in a desperate bid to divert public attention from YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s popular MAVIGUN proposal. Political observers say the vicious campaign is a direct response to the growing support for MAVIGUN (Machilipatnam–Vijayawada–Guntur corridor) as a practical, low-cost alternative to Chandrababu Naidu’s debt-ridden Amaravati project.
The Vulgar assault
Under the guise of a weekend political commentary, Radha Krishna has crossed all limits of decency by making obscene remarks and spreading filthy narratives targeting YSRCP leaders’ wives and sisters. The anchor has resorted to character assassination, questioning the personal lives of women from YSRCP families and using the most degrading language ever heard on mainstream television.
Diversion tactic to protect Amaravati scam empire
Senior YSRCP leaders allege that the moment YS Jagan proposed MAVIGUN, a realistic growth corridor that can be developed with just 10% of the Rs. 2 lakh crore Chandrababu plans to spend on Amaravati, the TDP camp panicked. Instead of debating the merits of the proposal, Chandrababu and his “yellow media” have launched a coordinated smear campaign to shift focus away from the massive corruption and debt trap in Amaravati. “Chandrababu is using paid trolls and his media proxies to malign MAVIGUN because he knows the public is waking up to the reality, MAVIGUN is a genuine growth engine, while Amaravati is becoming a bottomless pit of scams,” said a senior YSRCP leader.
Radha Krishna’s personal track record under scanner
The controversy has also brought Radha Krishna’s own personal life into sharp focus. Allegations have surfaced about his alleged immoral relationships, including claims of extramarital affairs even while his wife was alive, and subsequent relationships after her death. Critics are now asking how a person with such a questionable personal record has the moral authority to pass vulgar judgments on the families of political opponents.
Widespread outrage across Andhra Pradesh
The offensive remarks have triggered massive anger not just within YSRCP but among common people and women’s organisations across the state. Many are calling it a direct attack on the dignity of women and an attempt to intimidate political opponents by targeting their families. “This is not journalism. This is paid brokerage and gutter politics at its worst,” said one women’s rights activist.
The Real Game: Kill the MAVIGUN discussion
Political analysts point out that Chandrababu’s camp is terrified because MAVIGUN offers a practical, existing infrastructure-based solution for the capital region. With three major districts already having strong economic activity, ports, railways, airport, and educational institutions, MAVIGUN can become a real growth engine without burdening the state with massive new loans. By contrast, Chandrababu’s Amaravati model is seen as a greenfield project requiring enormous funds, with little progress even after years in power.
YSRCP’s strong warning
The YSRCP has strongly condemned the campaign and warned that such cheap tactics will not succeed in suppressing the public debate on the future of Andhra Pradesh’s capital. “This is not just an attack on YSRCP families. This is an attack on the dignity of every woman in the state,” the party stated. As the controversy rages, the central question now being asked across Andhra Pradesh is clear: When will Chandrababu stop hiding behind vulgar personal attacks and start addressing the real issues of development and good governance?
