Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan is making headlines with his growing real estate investments in Ayodhya. He recently bought a prime 25,000 sq. ft. plot near the Sarayu river for ₹40 crore. This follows an earlier purchase of a 5,300 sq. ft. plot worth ₹4.5 crore before the Ram Mandir reopening. Under a trust named after his father, poet Harivansh Rai Bachchan, Amitabh also holds 54,000 sq. ft. of land where he plans to build a memorial.
Ayodhya has quickly become a hotspot for luxury real estate after the reconstruction of the Ram Mandir. The city is attracting celebrities and investors alike, with areas around the temple turning into prized real estate locations. Amitabh’s investments highlight the growing appeal and promise of this historic city.
The Bachchan family’s involvement extends beyond land. In 2023, Amitabh and his son Abhishek bought 10 luxury apartments worth ₹25 crore. His wife, Jaya Bachchan, also disclosed their property holdings in the Rajya Sabha, showing the family’s deep ties to Ayodhya. For the Bachchans, these investments are more than just business—they reflect a meaningful connection to the city’s rich cultural heritage.
