AP Fibernet Faces Uncertain Future Amidst Turmoil and Mismanagement

The future of AP Fibernet appears increasingly bleak following a series of unsettling developments since the new government assumed power. Once hailed as a significant income-generating initiative for the state, the organization is now grappling with operational paralysis and internal chaos.

The troubles began shortly after the government transition, with AP Fibernet’s head office being seized for nearly three months, halting all key operations. Although activities were later resumed, the organization witnessed unprecedented instability, including the appointment of three Managing Directors (MDs) in quick succession and the resignation of its chairman.

In a further blow to the beleaguered firm, nearly 800 employees were terminated recently, triggering widespread unrest among the workforce. Notably, in the past 10 months, not a single new connection has been registered, severely affecting the company’s revenue streams.

Former AP Fibernet Chairman, G.V. Reddy, made sensational comments regarding the dire state of the organization. He openly criticized the current leadership, alleging mismanagement by the Managing Director and highlighting that the company has failed to generate any new income. These remarks reportedly stirred political disturbances, culminating in his resignation.

Amid growing speculation, rumors are rife that the government may either privatize AP Fibernet or shut it down completely. However, there has been no official statement from the government yet to clarify the company’s fate.
