AP has turned into Jungle raj

Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President YS Jagan Mohan Reddy launched a scathing attack on Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, declaring that Andhra Pradesh has descended into “Jungle Raj,” where corruption is rampant, law and order has collapsed, institutions are paralysed, and ordinary people are left defenceless. Addressing party workers from the Bhimavaram Assembly constituency at the YSRCP central office, YS Jagan said the coalition government has turned governance into organised chaos, driven by greed, vendetta and unchecked abuse of power. He said public anger is swelling across the state and that every household today is discussing how life was better under the YSRCP government. Announcing his return to mass outreach, YS Jagan said he would undertake a padayatra covering all 150 Assembly constituencies to expose the failures of the present regime and to rebuild people’s confidence.
People are vexed, they feel cheated

YS Jagan said Chandrababu Naidu has completed nearly two years in office, including three budgets, but challenged the government to name even one genuine benefit delivered to the people. “Everywhere, the same discussion is happening. People are saying openly that things were better earlier. Promises were kept. Welfare reached homes. Governance had compassion,” he said. Contrasting his tenure with the present, he said the YSRCP government treated its manifesto as a sacred commitment, ensured monthly assistance, and did not cancel a single welfare scheme even during the Covid crisis. “Today, every promise of Chandrababu,  Super Six, Super Seven has collapsed. Deception has become the policy of this government,” he said.

Debt without Welfare, Corruption without Limits

YS Jagan said during YSRCP’s five-year term, even with Covid, the government borrowed about Rs. 3.32 lakh crore, of which Rs. 2.73 lakh crore was directly transferred into people’s accounts through DBT. “We can show every rupee, every beneficiary, every Aadhaar number,” he said. In contrast, he said Chandrababu has already borrowed around Rs. 3 lakh crore in less than two years, with no welfare delivery and no transparency. “Where did this money go? Into whose pockets did it flow? What is visible everywhere is corruption, loot, share, and consume. Government revenue is not reaching the treasury, it is reaching private pockets,” he said.

Liquor, Sand and Minerals turned into mafia

YS Jagan said large-scale corruption now dominates liquor, sand and mining sectors. He said liquor shops and belt shops are controlled by the ruling network, alcohol is sold above MRP, adulterated bottles are circulated, and illegal outlets operate openly. On sand, he said sales have increased but government revenue has fallen to zero, which itself exposes the scale of the scam. “From silica to quartz to laterite, everything is being plundered. This is not governance, this is organised exploitation,” he said.

Sankranti turned into a gambling carnival

Referring to recent Sankranti events, YS Jagan said the state resembled a lawless zone rather than a festival land. He said cockfights, high-stakes betting, recording dances and open auctions were conducted, with political leaders, ruling cadres and sections of the police actively participating. “Videos shocked the public. It felt like a jungle state. The government itself stood behind these activities. That is how far degradation has gone,” he said.

Collapse of Law and Order

YS Jagan said Andhra Pradesh has fallen to the bottom nationally in maintaining law and order. He cited incidents where a Railway Kodur MLA intimidated a woman government employee, a woman attempted suicide due to harassment by the Amadalavalasa MLA, and the Satyavedu MLA raped a woman and misused power to close the case. He said instead of acting against such crimes, the government is using police machinery to target political opponents and foist false cases. “This is vendetta governance. Not administration,” he said.

Institutions in ruins, People in distress

YS Jagan said education, healthcare and agriculture, the three pillars of society, have been destroyed. He said fee reimbursement has not been paid for eight quarters, students are dropping out, hostel food quality has collapsed, and Aarogyasri has been crippled. He said farmers are denied minimum support price, urea is unavailable, investment support has been reduced, and aquaculture power subsidies have been withdrawn. “If a government cannot protect education, healthcare and agriculture, then what is its moral right to exist?” he asked.

YS Jagan 2.0 will put cadre first”

Admitting that his earlier tenure focused more on governance delivery, YS Jagan said the coming phase will give central importance to the party cadre. “YS Jagan 2.0 will be cadre-centric. Grassroots strength will decide our resurgence. Through cadre, people will be served better,” he said. He said the YSRCP cadre in Bhimavaram remains intact and called for strong village-level committee building across the state.

Padayatra across 150 Constituencies

YS Jagan announced that after about one and a half years, he would launch a padayatra across all 150 Assembly constituencies, staying continuously among the people to take their struggles forward.

“People will not tolerate this jungle raj for long. This government will be defeated by the anger of the public. We will take this fight to every village, every ward, every household,” he declared.
