Staying true to his reputation for honoring every promise, YSR Congress Party chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has once again proved that leadership is about commitment, not position. During his visit to Pulivendula—his own constituency—in March this year, Jagan personally met farmers whose crops were devastated by unseasonal heavy rains. Deeply moved by their distress, he assured them of support, not from the government, but on behalf of his party.
Fulfilling that promise, Y.S. Jagan has now compensated 670 affected farmers with a total amount of ₹1.14 crore, disbursing ₹20,000 per hectare of damaged crops. This gesture comes despite his party no longer being in power, showcasing his personal commitment and humanitarian values. The financial aid brought much-needed relief to farmers who stated that they had not yet received any support from the government.
The farmers wholeheartedly thanked Y.S. Jagan stood by them in tough times and praised his history of direct benefit transfers, timely input subsidies, and crop loss compensation schemes during his tenure as Chief Minister. They expressed that while governments may come and go, a leader like Jagan, who supports people even out of power, stands apart. In a political landscape often criticized for forgotten promises, this act has resonated as a powerful example of compassionate leadership in action.
