Chandrababu’s factory of Lies.. Naidu’s monthly propaganda script decoded

Chandrababu’s factory of Lies.. Naidu’s monthly propaganda script decoded

Every month, as the calendar turns to the first, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu travels to a different district to preside over pension distribution programmes. What has increasingly become predictable, however, is not the event itself but the narrative that accompanies it. At almost every public meeting, the Chief Minister repeats a familiar script, making sweeping allegations against the previous YSRCP government and former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy without presenting any verifiable evidence. From claims about Tirumala laddus and land records to accusations about debt, irrigation projects, and employment, the speeches often rely on sensational assertions that are later contradicted by official reports, data, or on-record statements. Critics say this pattern reflects a deliberate strategy of misinformation, using public platforms to spread half-truths, distort facts, and divert attention from governance failures. The following instances highlight some of the major claims made by the Chief Minister and the documented facts that contradict them.

1. Allegation against Buggana Rajendranath

Date: March 9, 2026
Location: Kalugotla village, Emmiganur constituency, Kurnool district – “Mee Bhoomi Mee Hakku” Gram Sabha

Allegation: Chandrababu claimed that former minister Buggana Rajendranath encroached on four-and-a-half acres of land based on a complaint by a person named Polem Ramachandra.

Fact: Officials stated the issue was a private dispute between two brothers and could not be resolved administratively. Buggana clarified that his family has been living in the same house for over 100 years and that his family donated about 75 percent of its assets for public causes. Even though the Revenue Divisional Officer clarified during the meeting that the land was assigned land and had no relation to the complainant, the Chief Minister continued making allegations.

2. Allegation about Tirumala Laddu

Date: March 9, 2026
Location: Kalugotla village, Emmiganur constituency

Allegation: The Chief Minister claimed he was shocked to learn that chemicals used for cleaning toilets were used in preparing Tirumala laddus.

Fact: The CBI SIT report clearly stated that there was no adulteration in the ghee used in Tirumala laddus. The report specifies that there was no animal fat in the ghee, with this clarification appearing in page 29 and again in page 211 of the NDDB report, and also referenced in page 210 in the NIRD report.

3. Allegation on Passbooks and Survey Stones

Date: January 24, 2026
Location: Nagari, Chittoor district – “Swarna Andhra–Swachh Andhra” meeting

Allegation: Chandrababu alleged that Rs 700 crore was spent just to print land passbooks with Y.S. Jagan’s photographs.

Fact: The entire survey system, including survey equipment, core stations, rovers, aircraft and helicopters used for surveys, ORI records, and digital mapping, was introduced during the Y.S. Jagan government. Geo-tagging of land boundaries, QR codes in passbooks, and the appointment of 15,000 surveyors, digital assistants, and village revenue assistants in secretariats were all implemented during the YSRCP government.

4. Electricity Tariff Claims

Date: March 9, 2026
Location: Mottaburuzu, Nandyal district – “Mee Bhoomi Mee Hakku” meeting

Allegation: Chandrababu said consumers were burdened with Rs 4,600 crore in true-up charges due to decisions taken by the previous government and that his government decided not to increase electricity tariffs.

Fact: After coming to power, the coalition government imposed electricity tariff hikes worth nearly Rs 19,000 crore within 18 months. The AP Electricity Regulatory Commission even directed that about Rs 923.55 crore collected through excess charges be refunded to consumers. However, the government projected this refund as a voluntary concession.

5. Veligonda Project Claims

Date: February 25, 2026
Location: Gantavaripalle village, Markapur district – Veligonda project works

Allegation: Chandrababu claimed the previous government staged a drama by dedicating an incomplete project in March 2024 and said only Rs 500 crore was spent by YSRCP.

Fact: During YSR’s tenure, Rs 3,581.58 crore was spent on the project. Major tunnelling works were completed, and the largest tunnels in Asia were finished during the Y.S. Jagan government despite the COVID pandemic. In contrast, between 2014 and 2019 Chandrababu’s government excavated only 6.686 km of tunnels, whereas the combined work during YSR and Y.S. Jagan’s tenure reached 30.901 km.

6. Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation Project

Date: February 5, 2026
Location: Amaravati Parade Grounds

Allegation: Chandrababu claimed that the Rayalaseema Lift Irrigation project stopped during the YSRCP government.

Fact: The Telangana Chief Minister publicly stated in the Telangana Assembly on January 3, 2026, that the project works were halted after he spoke to Chandrababu Naidu and requested him to stop the project.

7. Allegations of Mafia Activities

Date: January 18, 2026
Location: TDP office, Mangalagiri – NTR memorial meeting

Allegation: Chandrababu accused the YSRCP government of running land, sand, liquor, mining, and drug mafias.

Fact: TDP-linked individuals were caught operating adulterated liquor units in Madanapalle. Illegal liquor trade and sand exploitation are continuing across the state with about 1.5 lakh belt shops reportedly functioning.

8. Farmer Welfare Claims

Date: November 19, 2025
Location: Pendlimarri, YSR district – PM Kisan–Annadata Sukhibhava event

Allegation: Chandrababu claimed he would ensure prosperity for farmers.

Fact: Prices of several crops, including paddy, maize, banana, coconut, pulses, chilli, cotton, and tomato, have sharply fallen. For instance, maize MSP is Rs 2,400, but farmers are receiving only Rs 1,400–1,500. Farmers lost about Rs 3,500 crore in maize alone. Banana prices have fallen from Rs 30,000 per tonne during YSRCP rule to Rs 5,000 now. Tomato prices dropped to Rs 2 per kg.

9. Violence allegations in Pulivendula

Date: November 1, 2026
Location: Peddannavaripalle, Sri Sathya Sai district

Allegation: Chandrababu accused Pulivendula of factional violence.

Fact: Violence during the Pulivendula ZPTC by-election in August 2025 involved attacks on YSRCP leaders, including an attempt on the life of MLC Ramesh Yadav. Critics say the current “Red Book politics” has led to numerous attacks across the state.

10. Technology and Investment Claims

Date: October 24, 2025
Location: Dubai diaspora event

Allegation: Chandrababu claimed he brought Microsoft to Hyderabad and Google to Visakhapatnam and would supply air taxis to Singapore and Dubai.

Fact: The Visakhapatnam data centre project began with an agreement between the YSRCP government and Adani in November 2020, with land allocated in 2023 and groundwork completed under Y.S. Jagan’s government. Google’s role is limited to providing technology, while Adani is investing Rs 87,000 crore.

11. Pension Distribution Claims

Date: October 1, 2025
Location: Datti village, Vizianagaram district

Allegation: Chandrababu claimed Andhra Pradesh leads the country in pension schemes.

Fact: When the YSRCP government left office in 2024, pensions were given to 66.34 lakh beneficiaries. Under the current government, the number dropped to about 60.69 lakh, meaning over 5.64 lakh pensions were cut. Budget allocations indicate that nearly 7.45 lakh more pensions could be removed in the future.

12. Debt allegations Against YSRCP

Allegation: Chandrababu accused the YSRCP government of damaging the state’s financial reputation and taking excessive loans.

Fact: During 2019–24, the YSRCP government borrowed Rs 12,707 crore less than the Net Borrowing Ceiling (NBC) permitted by the Centre. In contrast, during Chandrababu’s previous tenure (2014–19) the government borrowed Rs 29,099 crore above the limit. After returning to power in 2024, his government again exceeded the borrowing limit by Rs 17,953 crore, and total borrowings in just two years have already crossed Rs 3.20 lakh crore.

These examples illustrate a pattern of repeated allegations and propaganda during public events while the factual record tells a different story.
