Union Minister Nitin Gadkari has once again come up with a commuter-friendly move—this time, it’s a new ₹3,000 annual FASTag toll pass that promises to make highway travel easier on both time and wallet. Announced on June 18, the pass will come into effect from August 15, 2025, just in time to gift India’s drivers some relief from mounting toll charges.
Designed exclusively for private non-commercial vehicles—like cars, jeeps, and vans—this new system allows up to 200 toll plaza trips or a full year of usage, whichever comes first. For regular travelers, it’s a no-brainer: instead of paying ₹340 every month (which adds up to over ₹4,000 a year), this plan slashes the cost while also promising fewer delays at toll booths.
The idea is simple but smart—cut down congestion, stop duplicate toll charges within a 60 km stretch, and make life smoother for millions of daily drivers. With more than 10 crore FASTags already in use across the country and digital toll collections soaring, this is another push towards a more efficient, cashless, and commuter-friendly highway system.
You can activate the pass through the RajmargYatra app or the official NHAI and MoRTH websites. All in all, this is good news for the average Indian hitting the highways—less hassle, more savings, and faster journeys.
