Tollywood actress and former Andhra Pradesh minister Roja’s daughter, Anshu Malika, hasearned international recognition by winning the Maureen Biggers Leadership Award 2025–26 atIndiana University, Bloomington, where she is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computers.
The award, instituted in 2023 to honor Dr. Maureen S. Biggers for her pioneering work inadvancing women and underrepresented groups in technology, carries a value of $1,000 annuallyand is presented to students who demonstrate leadership, innovation, and commitment to equityin the tech space.
Anshu was chosen for her sustained efforts in empowering women through technology, includingleading coding camps in India, Namibia, and Nigeria, training women in web development, andpromoting technical education via social media initiatives.
From childhood she has also been active as a writer and in social service, making herachievement even more noteworthy. By winning this award, Anshu not only continues Dr.Biggers’ mission of diversity and inclusion in technology but also brings pride to India, inspiringmany young women aspiring to excel in science and technology.
