Team India veteran cricketer ShikharDhawan gave a strong response to former Pakistan cricketer ShahidAfridi’s recent controversial remarks targeting the Indian Army. Afridi, speaking to Pakistani media, blamed the Indian Army for alleged security failures and accused India of targeting Pakistan without evidence. His comments were seen as an attempt to discredit the Indian military, calling it ineffective despite its presence.
Reacting sharply, ShikharDhawan took to X (formerly Twitter) with a patriotic rebuttal. He stated, “We know the power of our Indian Army. Don’t forget, it was the same army that defeated you in the Kargil War.” He further criticized Afridi, saying, “You people have already stooped too low. How much further do you want to go?” Dhawan’s bold statement quickly gained massive support from Indian fans on social media.
The former Pakistan cricketer Danish Kaneria also condemned Afridi’s remarks, distancing himself from the narrative and showing respect for the Indian Army.
