A shocking incident has come to light at the Andhra Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (APTDC) Divisional Office in Vijayawada, where an employee in a key role was found misusing the office premises for a secret affair. Every night, the employee was seen arriving on his bike with a woman, staying inside the office for about 30 minutes before leaving. Initially, the security staff did not intervene, assuming the visits were work-related. However, the regularity of these late-night visits raised suspicions.
Following this, higher officials reviewed CCTV footage and were stunned to discover the inappropriate use of office space for personal activities. What made the matter worse was that the employee himself posted a close photo with the woman on his WhatsApp status, unknowingly exposing the affair and drawing further attention to the issue.
This incident has not only raised serious ethical concerns but also highlighted the growing misuse of power and public resources by some government officials. It reflects a troubling trend of declining discipline and accountability within certain sections of the bureaucracy. In the midst of ongoing concerns about corruption and lack of professionalism in public service, this case has become a flashpoint for criticism.
Higher authorities have taken the matter seriously and have ordered a formal inquiry. Disciplinary action is expected soon. The episode has sparked widespread discussion and disappointment, with many demanding stricter oversight and ethical standards in government departments to prevent such misuse of public trust and property.
