TDP MLA's Brother Arrested in Connection with Congress Leader's Murder

A shocking development has rocked Andhra Pradesh politics as Gummanur Narayana, brother of sitting TDP MLA Gummanur Jayaram, has been arrested in connection with the brutal murder of Congress leader Chippagiri Lakshminarayana. The arrest, which took place in Kurnool district, has added a dramatic new twist to a case that has already drawn widespread attention across the state.

Chippagiri Lakshminarayana, who served as the Congress in-charge for the Alur constituency, was killed in a gruesome attack on April 27 near Guntakal. According to police reports, he was first rammed by a tipper lorry and then assaulted with sickles and other sharp weapons. His son, Vinod, was also seriously injured in the attack.

Following the incident, suspicions began to swirl around Narayana, the younger brother of Alur MLA Gummanur Jayaram. A detailed investigation by the police revealed that Narayana had allegedly provided financial support to those involved in the murder. Acting on this evidence, police arrested him and presented him before the district court on Tuesday. The court remanded him to 14 days of judicial custody, and he has since been shifted to Kurnool jail.

Narayana was taken into custody from Alur and brought to the local police station for interrogation before being produced in court. His arrest has reignited public interest and political debate surrounding the high-profile murder, with many questioning the extent of political involvement in the crime.
