In a surprising and refreshing turn of events, leaders from rival political parties—Congress and BJP—exchanged mutual praise during Union Minister Nitin Gadkari’s recent visit to Telangana. The senior BJP leader was in the state to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for various national highway and road development projects worth approximately ₹5,000 crore.
During a public meeting held at Asifabad, Union Minister of State and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar went out of his way to appreciate Telangana’s Congress Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy. Sanjay hailed Komatireddy as “open-minded and development-oriented,” praising his willingness to collaborate with central ministers regardless of political differences. “Unlike BRS leaders who spent their time attacking Modi and the BJP during their tenure, Komatireddy doesn’t hesitate to approach us for development-related issues,” Sanjay remarked.
He further assured the crowd that the Hyderabad-Karimnagar-Manchiryal State Highway could be upgraded to a national highway if the Telangana government formally submitted a proposal.
In response, Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy returned the gesture of goodwill, describing Nitin Gadkari as “a great person” known for his prompt and positive response to development requests. “Every time I approached him with a proposal for Telangana’s development, he never said no,” Komatireddy said, crediting Gadkari for prioritizing infrastructure over politics.
