The liquor policy in Andhra Pradesh has collapsed into corruption, criminality, and chaos under Chandrababu Naidu. What was once a transparent, regulated system under Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has now been handed over to a TDP-run liquor mafia that manufactures, distributes, and sells fake liquor across the state, endangering lives for profit.
Liquor Network Captured by TDP Mafia
- Liquor shops are now controlled by TDP contractors
- Fake liquor manufactured in TDP-run cottage units
- Fake stock is supplied and sold only through TDP networks
- Entire liquor business was hijacked for political funding
Government-run wine shops were scrapped and handed over to private contractors, all of whom are TDP financiers. After gaining full control of the retail network, the mafia began pushing fake liquor directly into stores, as revealed in the Mulakalacheruvu and Ibrahimpatnam raids.
QR Code Drama: A Gimmick to Fool the Public
The Chandrababu government has now made QR code scanning mandatory for liquor sales, claiming it will stop fake liquor. But this raises serious questions:
- If QR code scanning can prevent fake liquor, why did Chandrababu remove it earlier when it already existed under YS Jagan’s governance?
- Who benefits from this gimmick? Certainly not the public.
- Nearly 70% of liquor sold is cheap liquor consumed by the poor.
- Over 60% of BPL consumers don’t even have smartphones, so who will scan QR codes?
- Can we expect belt shops, which operate illegally, to scan QR codes? Impossible.
The QR order is nothing but a public relations stunt to cover up a criminal network deeply rooted within the ruling regime.
Giving Criminals the Power to “Check” Crime
- Fake liquor factories → run by TDP leaders
- Fake liquor supply → controlled by TDP distributors
- Fake liquor sales → pushed through TDP liquor shops & belt shops
Now, Chandrababu Naidu claims he will stop fake liquor using QR codes implemented by the same mafia. This is like appointing thieves to guard a bank vault. When criminals themselves run the liquor trade, how can people trust QR codes or so-called inspections?
This is not regulation, this is deception.
Permit Rooms & Belt Shops – Channels for Fake Liquor
- Permit rooms were run illegally for 16 months and later regularized without tenders
- They openly sell loose and unsealed liquor, perfect for fake liquor circulation
- Each village now has 2–3 belt shops, all run by TDP workers
- No QR scanning. No sealing. No enforcement. Pure mafia monopoly.
YS Jagan’s regulated Liquor Policy vs. Chandrababu’s Mafia Model
| Under Jagan Mohan Reddy | Under Chandrababu Naidu |
| Government-run liquor shops | Mafia-run private shops |
| QR tracking enforced | QR removed, brought back for drama |
| 1,26,083 random quality checks yearly | No quality checks statewide |
| No fake liquor entry | Fake liquor factories exposed |
| Transparent revenue to govt | Rs. 5,000–Rs. 6,000 crore looted in 15–16 months |
Why No Action If Government Is Clean?
If the Chandrababu government has no link to fake liquor:
- Why no statewide raids after massive seizures?
- Why is the sealing of liquor shops involved?
- Why no mass testing of seized stock?
- Why no arrests of TDP liquor contractors?
- Why cover-up attempts instead of an investigation?
Because Chandrababu Naidu’s own network is running the fake liquor mafia.
