The Bollywood sensational movie ‘Cchaava’ potrayed the life of Maratha ruler Sambhaji Maharaj who did not surrender to the Mughals until his last breath though he was brutally tortured. Millions across the country took Sambhaji Maharaj’s fighting spirit as an inspiration but surprisingly few of them tried to follow a thought to be a fictional scene in the movie.
Marathas believe that treasure looted by Mughals from Maratha kingdom was hidden at Asirghar Fort of Burhanpur, Madhya Pradesh and the same was showcased in the film Chhaava. Being influenced by the scene, the locals went all the way for treasure hunt. A large crowd gathered and digged the surroundings of the Asirghar Fort to excavate gold coins which some of them have captured in their mobiles.
However as soon as the videos went viral Police entered the scene and issued a warning against illegal excavation. This incident once again proved how movies influence people both in terms of good & bad.
