Political strategistSunil Kanugolu is believed to be the brain behind this bold pitch — aiming to harnessChiranjeevi’s mass appeal to counter growing public dissatisfaction.

For the record, Chiranjeevi isn’t new to politics. After merging his Praja Rajyam Party withCongress in August 2011, he was nominated to the Rajya Sabha in April 2012. He served untilApril 2018, and also held the position of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism inthe UPA-II government under Dr. Manmohan Singh.
