Where’s the Cow Protection?

Where's the Cow Protection?

In Andhra Pradesh, where we treat cows like goddesses in our culture, things are going from bad to worse under Chandrababu Naidu’s coalition government. Illegal cow transports, beef smuggling, and shipments to slaughterhouses are happening left and right. The opposition YSRCP and Hindu groups are up in arms, saying the government’s just watching it all unfold. Cops make arrests and file cases, but then… crickets. It’s breaking Hindu hearts, and this mess kicked off right after the coalition took power.

Tirupati Goshala Nightmare: Over 100 Cows Dead in 3 Months

It started with a gut punch at the Tirupati TTD goshala, one of the most respected spots for cow care. YSRCP leader and former TTD Chairman Bhuman Karunakar Reddy points the finger at BR Naidu, who took over as chairman on December 12, 2024. He says the place fell apart under him, leading to more than 100 cows dying in just three months. The government admits the deaths happened, but instead of fixing it, they’re slapping “inciting religious hate” charges on anyone who speaks up. And guess what? The smuggling and slaughter keep rolling on across the state.

Visakhapatnam: Beef Hauls and Sneaky Midnight Runs

The port city, our biggest hub, has turned into smuggling central.

  • Huge Beef Bust (Nov 6, 2025): Cops hit Mitra Cold Storage near Shonthyam and grabbed 1.89 lakh kg of cow meat—the biggest catch yet in the state. Anandapuram police jumped on it with a case, and Hindu groups are boiling mad.
  • Deadly Crash in the Dark: Around 2:30 AM, a van sneaking cows from Narsannapeta to Purna Market flipped near an old dairy farm after hitting a guy on the road. He died right there, and a few cows didn’t make it either. Police filed a report, but we’re still waiting for real answers.

Pithapuram Mess: Fake Ghee from Cow Fat?

Right in Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan’s own neighborhood—Kakinada’s Pithapuram—a raid on November 6, 2025, turned up 30 barrels of phony ghee in Madhava Nagar, supposedly whipped up from cow fat. Revenue folks seized it, and folks are calling out the irony in a place that loves to flaunt its Hindu roots.

Anakapalli: Hiding behind “Charity” for the Kill

A fresh complaint calls out the Home Minister’s inner circle for running a cow-smuggling operation dressed up as a charitable trust. Local guy Somireddy Raju tipped off the Anakapalli Collector and SP, saying they’re hauling cows from Penugollu village to Hyderabad slaughter spots using weekend markets as cover. This year alone, 10 Bolero vans got nabbed, sparking over 10 cases. Word is, some TDP folks faked papers from the AP Animal Welfare Board in Vijayawada to set up bogus goshalas—they even scoop up cows from highway busts. Calls for a full probe, yanking those certificates, and cracking down hard have hit the Lokayukta too.

 Nellore and Other Spots:

  • Kovur (Nov 7, 2025): Tip led cops to the Chennai-Kolkata highway bypass, where they found 15 cows crammed in a container—12 from Nellore market, 3 from Kovur—bound for Ongole and beyond. They grabbed the truck and charged the driver.
  • Gudibanda Market (Nov 8, 2025): Dozens of animals stuffed into one rig, doors slammed shut for the trip out of state. Same ugly scenes in Hindupur and Gorantla.
  • Kadapa: Tamil Nadu cops saved 42 cows on August 27, 2024, and 33 more on December 17, 2024, all headed from Kadapa to slaughterhouses in Kerala and Coimbatore via NH44. Back in October 2024, MP Lavu Sri Krishnadevarayalu blew the whistle on nonstop smuggling and killings in Palnadu.

Turning AP into a Beef export hotspot

People are yelling that the whole state, Vizag especially is morphing into a beef export pipeline and storage dump. Complaints pour in, busts happen daily, but the government’s just tallying small fish and big ones without stopping the flow. Hindus and faith groups are fed up.

“Hostels” for cows?

CM Chandrababu joked the other day about building “hostels” for street cows, just like for students and women—he even chuckled about it. His son, Minister Nara Lokesh, chimed in today from Anantapur, promising “special sheds.” But from the CM down to Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan—who calls himself a true Hindu—and the whole coalition crew, it’s all hot air. No real fixes for goshalas, no vet care, no crackdowns on smugglers.

YSRCP’s pushing for immediate safeguards, and everyday folks are raging that this neglect is stomping on Hindu feelings. When will the promises turn into action, before more sacred lives are lost?
