It wasn’t just another celebrity wedding—it was a moment where tradition met dreams, and cinema embraced art. Akhil Akkineni, the charming actor from Tollywood’s celebrated Akkineni family, tied the knot with his longtime love, Zainab Ravzi, in a warm, joy-filled ceremony that brought together close family, friends, and some of the biggest names in Indian cinema.
Held in Hyderabad with all the grace and glamour one would expect from a film family, the wedding was both personal and poetic. Zainab, an artist known for her soulful paintings and quiet confidence, has stayed away from the limelight for most of her life. Her exhibition “Reflection” received quiet praise, and her brief role in “Meenakshi: A Tale of Three Cities” hinted at her connection to the world of stories.
Akhil, whose career has seen both highs and setbacks, seemed visibly emotional as he stepped into this new chapter. Surrounded by his family—including a beaming Nagarjuna, supportive mother Amala, and a visibly proud Naga Chaitanya, who took the lead in the baraat—the wedding felt like a celebration of not just love, but resilience and reinvention.
Guests included film royalty like Chiranjeevi and Surekha, Ram Charan and Upasana, and director Prashanth Neel, all there not for the flashbulbs, but to genuinely bless the young couple. The mood was festive, but intimate.
The couple had gotten engaged in November 2024, but chose to wait a few months to avoid overlapping with Chaitanya’s wedding to actress Sobhita Dhulipala.
A grand reception is planned for June 8 at Annapurna Studios, where the celebration will continue with the extended family of the industry.
