Anger grows among Kapu community and Chiranjeevi fans over Pawan Kalyan’s stand after meeting Balakrishna

Discontent is simmering among sections of the Kapu community and fans of Chiranjeevi over the political conduct of Pawan Kalyan, particularly after his recent meeting with Balakrishna. Many of them feel hurt that Pawan, who has often spoken about self-respect and family honour, is now seen sharing cordial moments with leaders who had publicly insulted his elder brother and even targeted his mother in the past.

Supporters question what they call a visible contradiction. They point out that when Chiranjeevi was invited respectfully for a dinner meeting earlier, allegations were later spread that he had been humiliated. Yet, the very people who made objectionable remarks are today being treated with warmth, they say. “If someone insults your own brother in the Assembly, shouldn’t you at least ask for an apology?” is the sentiment repeatedly voiced by many fans.

Assembly episode continues to haunt
The criticism traces back to remarks made during Assembly sessions in September 2025. During a discussion, comments were made in a manner widely perceived as disrespectful towards Chiranjeevi. The language used triggered anger among his admirers and members of the Kapu community. At that time, they expected a strong response from Pawan Kalyan, especially given his position and influence.
However, no public objection or demand for apology came from him, which disappointed many supporters. They say the silence was painful and difficult to understand.

Chiranjeevi’s clarification from abroad
Even while he was overseas, Chiranjeevi reacted strongly to the statements and issued a clarification. He stated that he had been invited warmly for a meal by the then Chief Minister Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy and was treated with respect. He also explained that he, along with other film personalities, had met Jagan again to discuss issues concerning the film industry. According to him, those discussions helped in decisions such as the revision of ticket prices for major releases.
Fans argue that this statement from Chiranjeevi himself had already countered the negative campaign that was carried out earlier. In their view, the matter should have ended there.
Friendly meeting raises eyebrows

What has now intensified the dissatisfaction is the optics of Pawan Kalyan meeting Balakrishna in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Visuals of the two leaders sitting together and interacting comfortably are being widely circulated. Critics within his own support base say the images send a message that political power is being placed above personal dignity.
They feel that if insults directed at one’s family are overlooked so easily, it weakens the moral position Pawan Kalyan has long claimed to uphold. The promotions and celebratory tone around the meeting in sections of the media have only added to their frustration.
Cadre voices unease
The uneasiness is not limited to fans alone. Party workers and some leaders privately admit they are finding it harder to explain the developments to their followers. Complaints have repeatedly been made about instances where Jana Sena cadres allegedly face humiliation at the hands of alliance partners, they say. Yet, instead of confronting those responsible, the anger often appears to be redirected back at their own ranks.
For many loyalists, the core question remains unchanged: how long should they continue to tolerate what they see as repeated compromises on self-respect?
